Help us save the Derehams Inn from permanent closure!

Join our campaign to acquire and re-open the pub as a valuable amenity for our community

The Derehams Inn was sold in 2021 and despite assurances otherwise when the sale was agreed, the new owner applied for planning to develop the site into new flats. The local residents raised many objections to the planning application and were able to reinstate the ACV (Asset of Community Value) status for the pub. The planning application was refused on the 7th August 2023.

The Derehams Inn Community Group has been established to work together to acquire and re-open this great pub which used to be at the centre of our Loudwater community. We believe that the proposed demolition and redevelopment of this property will be a significant loss to the local area and our objective is to re-establish this pub as a place for local people to gather and enjoy the benefits of a true community pub.

This has been done successfully many times and notably, locally at The Craufurd Arms pub in Maidenhead, which became a community pub in 2017. We have also begun collaborating with The Boundary Arms in Pinkneys Green, Maidenhead, who are at a similar stage in their journey to save their pub.

Soon we will be asking for people to become members of the Derehams Inn Community Group for the fee of £5 to help generate a "fighting fund" to contribute towards expenses and we need your support. We will soon launch our "Become a Member" page which will allow you to join. This might not be an easy journey, but it will be possible if the whole community pulls together. We certainly think it will be worth it if we can all come together to celebrate in our very own Derehams Inn in the not too distant future!
